Holy Church or Robbers cave

Jesus during his ministry cleansed the temple off the traders twice. In both the occasions (First one is recorded in Gospel according to John and the second one is recorded in other 3 Gospels) he clearly rebukes the trading.

For what did he rebuke the traders? Few may answer, They had made it into a business and were making money. They were making money out of selling doves for the burnt offerings, changing money to give the roman equivalent so that the travelling people could make offerings. Don't we see such things happening in all the worship places now? It is very common for the locals to make a living out of the need of the people. Was that a Crime?

Even in the present Christian Churches, there are book shops in the vicinity. Some churches run their own book shops. Do these book shops do philanthropic work? Don't they amass profit and revenue to the church?

Jesus cleansed the Temple twice. Which means the traders did not learn not to defile.

There is a very high significance to the act of Jesus. In Gospel according to John he gives us a Hint.

He compared his body as the temple and if it is demolished, he said, he will raise up within 3 days, which he did.

In 1 Cor 3:16 Paul says we are Temple of God and Holy Spirit resides in us.

Are we like those temple traders?

When we get saved, we were cleansed off our sins with the blood of Jesus. After this are we getting into our old habits and defile the Temple of God again?

If we have defiled our bodies with transgressions again, LORD is coming with a whip. He never changes. The one who weilded the whip of cords is coming back again to cleanse us.

Before he comes with the whip, we must use the grace period and cleanse ourselves with the blood of Jesus again and not return to the old ways at all.

We are separated and called out of the normal worldly people. We are to be Holy as our LORD God YHWH is holy.

Be Holy. Be watchful. For the LORD is coming very soon.
