On Sunday December 18, 2016 The LORD led to a small village (Chatrathotti) which barely had road connectivity. This village ia approximately 6 kms from the area where "Prepare for the harvest" camp is being conducted. Few attendees of the camp used to go to this village for a Prayer meeting in the evening.
Since Carol rounds of the hosting church was planned well in advance, all were about to cancel the prayer program and be part of the carol Team. However the LORD was persistent that I had to go to this place without fail. Since I have never visited this place, I needed some assistance. This is in Thally - Jawalagiri Forest Area. Holy Spirit spoke to me to tell one of the lead persons who used to go to this village. I told him that I am being commissioned by Holy Spirit to go to this village and conduct Prayer meeting and if he is also led by the Spirit of God, I requested him to join me.
After stating that I left to the place where I had been staying overnight. Roughly after 15 minutes he came with his wife and their 4 month old daughter and said, "All Four of us will go for the Prayer meeting"
We drove down to the village in my car. Usually I visit the camp by Public Transport and not by car. However the LORD had commissioned me to take the car and had this plan, which I was not aware, when he commissioned me to go in car.
Usually the prayer meeting starts at 4:30 and concludes by 5:15. Before sunset, the worship leaders would return to their hometown, as the roads did not have lighting. This time, we reached the village around 6 PM.
Sun had already set and Twilight slowly enveloped the village. The house where prayer is being conducted had a dim CFL bulb. Needless to say that there were no amenities in the hut. no tables, no chairs for the attendees, no pulpit, no PAS.
About 20 people, including 10 Children attended the prayer meeting. We worshipped the LORD with a Kannada Song and then directly we went into the word of God. The LORD ministered an impromptu message through me. The attendees local language was Telugu and there was a need for a translator to translate the message. The wife of the servant of LORD who accompanied us with their 4 month old daughter knew Telugu and translated the message with daughter in her lap.
LORD's message was powerful and meaningful to the villagers. Deliverance from sickness was evident.
Once the ministry was over, the attendees insisted that we stay overnight in the village and they are eager to hear us speak. In an era where the urban Churches conduct whole worship service in an hour with sermon time of only 20 minutes, this village people who just had 1 worship song with about 1 hour of ministry, were eager to hear the word of God more. I have heard that the thirst of the villagers to know more about the LORD is more than that of the urban and semi urban population. For the first time I was experiencing it.
They also said that it was dangerous to travel in the night as there were elephants which would be wandering in the roads in the night time. They said that they are ready to sit and listen to the LORDs word throughout the night, if we stayed there. However, since I had another appointment in Hosur that night itself, I told them that the LORD who I serve will shield me from all these creatures and we left.
Looking back at this event, I meditated on the happenings. We have a lot of rules and definitions in our churches and often forget Ministering in the village areas that doesnot have a Church, or we don't prioritize the village ministry.
This testimony is not to judge anyone, but to encourage all churches to reach out to villages and minister the word of God, without fail.
God bless you and if you are touched by this testimony, please do participate in village ministries more from now on.
