Mark 2 : 17, Luke 5:31
In the 4 Gospels we read that Jesus healed many from their sickness.
1. He healed a Paralysed man by seeing the faith of people who carried the sick man - Mark 2 : 3
2. He even healed where there was lack of faith - Mark 6 : 5
3. He was asked to heal Lazurus - John 11 : 3 - 4
4. He healed Centurion's servant Matthew 8 : 6
5. He healed the sick, even if he was not asked to be healed by the pool of Bethesda John 5 : 7, Many were healed in Matthew 14 : 14. Matthew 4 : 23
6. He gave the authority to heal to Disciples Matthew10 :8, Luke 10 : 9
In Acts5:15 we see Peter's shadow healed the sick
Please don't offer a defence as to we are not as pure as Peter. Peter was also a normal human being and there is a recorded instance where Paul and him had an open
argument as to his hypocritical behaviour when saw the Jews from Jerusalem. This also negates the defence that we need to be as holy as Jesus to heal.
What do the modern Christians do?
1. Every week they go to Church. Many go there as a tradition, not to search and do LORD's will
2. If the Pastor asks for joining the outreach ministry, some join, many don't.
3. Like an endless cycle commit sin and confess to atone the sins
What are we, True Disciples of Jesus, supposed to do?
We have the authority to heal the sicknesses in the body
Mark 16:18 Jesus when he gave the commision to spread the Gospel, he said, if they lay hands on sick, they will be healed. This is given as one of the signs of a believer.
Many churches do encourage people to speak in tongues but ignore the other signs.
In Matthew 25:36 Jesus says "I was sick and you visited me" Here he doesn't even talks about healing. Just visiting.
Another closer look at Mark 2:17-18 reveals, "I came to the earth to save the sinners, not the righteous"
Here Jesus used the "Only Sick Needs Physician" as a simily. The healing he talks about is Spiritual Healing
People are inflicted with Spiritual diseases. Few major diseases are
1. Sin
2. Pride
3. Impatience
4. Boastfulness
5. Disrespect
6. Selfishness
7. Anger
8. Unforgiving
9. Rejoicing in Evil
10 Unbridled Tongue
There are many such diseases. LORD's spirit is saddened with these diseases.
In us reside the Holy Spirit, hence we need to be "Like Jesus" and heal the sick
In fact, few Christians among us are inflicted with one or more of these disease. Primary reason for the infliction is lack of God's kind of Love. If they have God's kind
of love, as entailed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, most of the diseases wont be there.
Are you ready to Heal the sick, as a Physician?
Or you would want to be a run-in-the-mill Christian by attending Carol rounds other Christian Homes, Or join an outreach and be happy that you have spread the Gospel?
It is a fallacy, if you are not a Physician.
Who shall go? If one doesn't go, who shall tell?
How beautiful are the legs of the messenger who carries the goodnews!
Sick needs Physician. The LORD is ready to show you the sick, who needs healing. Are you ready to Heal?
